IN SEARCH OF IDENTITY - CULTURAL TRAVELS ACROSS EUROPE

Our Comenius project will explore the different facets of identity both within the schools participating and in comparison with the other schools.

We will focus on the process of identity and its transformation through representation in different artistic media e.g. writing, drama, music, arts and design.

In this way  we will be able to compare not only our school lives and youth cultures but will also explore regional/national differences to finally discover similarities and common European ground. We feel that we should equally respect the social integration of the community where we are living and will strive to overcome the generation gap by involving older people as often as possible in our project.

The project is structured in 6 modules with the following different topics: 1) Identity &Difference, 2) Adolescence, 3) Desire, 4) Youth cultures, adulthood, aging/seniority, 5) The Future- How will we live together? 6) A Common European Identity?

We are sure that it will not only enhance self assurance, independence and awareness but will also strengthen the sense of responsibility and, - in a time of European crisis, European identity, common values and give a feeling for European citizenship.

We hope that it will make pupils understand the European dimension and favour an enrichment of individual growth.
